Not handed out. The boar and I went to a cave and there was a dragon. It was dying and said we needed to take her eggs and care for them. We dropped them off with a dragon tamer and got some other supplies for them...
And I guess they're all hatching now.
[Just bringing this up out of nowhere for no reason at all. Idle chit-chat.]
[Great, another airship. Thankfully, Felix is getting better with heights now, and is able to stand at the railing with Adrian with only a bit of discomfort.]
What? No! How would I even name it if I don't know if it's a boy or a girl?
[He won't tip over the edge, he's behaving! They're going to go see a dragon (probably)! And it's still sweet, the way Felix is trying so hard to pretend he's not very invested in dragons. There had better be a dragon there to take home or the tamer is going to hear Adrian's complaints...]
Well, I'm looking forward to meeting your dragon. [...hmm,] Have you ever built a shelter before?
[While Felix didn't explicitly tell the tamer to keep one on deck for him, it was probably clear to the man that Felix was invested in the well-being of these eggs, given that he went out of his way to acquire and deliver supplies, and generally asked about what the fate of them would be. It's possible the tamer reserved one for Felix anyway, knowing he was more attached than he let on.]
Not exactly, but I've built small shelters when camping, and our Academy sort of... Blew up and we had to help rebuild it. So I know a few things. I don't think it needs to be fancy.

Felix.
Do you have a dragon with you right now?
no subject
I'm just... Thinking.
no subject
How big is it going to be?
no subject
[No comment on that first question.]

Where are you going to keep it?

[As if he's not going to say yes... let him have this for a moment.]
What did you name it?
no subject
You think I'm the kind of sap who names an egg?
I didn't commit to anything. They might all be adopted by now. But I'm going to go to the tamer just to see. Are you coming?
no subject
Don't be difficult, I'll help you.
Where should I meet you?
no subject
The docks. The tamer is in the sky.
-> adopting even more animals action
[And so he will! Once he arrives and they're on their way, it's his turn to be difficult:]
So, did you name the egg after all?
no subject
What? No! How would I even name it if I don't know if it's a boy or a girl?
no subject
Mostly because this dragon bit is his new favorite bit, ahem.]
Fair enough, I suppose. Well, what if it's a girl? What will you call her?
no subject
He sighs, so very put-upon by this question.]
I don't know! I haven't thought about it.
[What if he names a dragon in his head and shows up and there's none there for adoption? Then he'll have to pretend he's not massively disappointed.]
... I guess it depends what it looks like and its personality.

... It won't mind the cold, hopefully.

[They must keep this baby warm. Countdown until it's just in their house like the cats, unfettered--]

You just learned about these dragons an hour ago and you're already fretting like a mother hen.
[It's a gruff tease, but there's undeniable fondness in his tone.]
We can make it a nest. Or it can come inside if it's that miserable, as long as it's small enough and doesn't make a huge mess, I guess.
no subject
[Hmph!! Were, past tense, because that's not ever going to happen. This is an indoor dragon, at least until it gets Big.
Either way, he's not denying it, he already intends to mother this lizard, thanks. He's accepted that.]
I hope it doesn't mind cats.
no subject
[He shakes his head, but actually finds it quite funny and cute that Adrian warmed up to the idea in such a rapid fashion.]
And the cats don't mind it.
no subject
[As for the cats, hmm, they're already spoiled...]
The cats are going need a talking-to about good behavior around babies.
